Clinix Phalaborwa Private Hospital, the first private hospital in Phalaborwa is now open and admitting patients. The hospital opened its doors on Monday, 4 June 2012. After years of planning and months of construction, the refurbishment of Clinix Phalaborwa Private Hospital is now complete with a new look hospital revealing a modern aesthetic and a luxurious ambience. The refurbishment project, involving the reception and waiting areas, all wards including nurses stations, corridors and patient lounges, specialist consulting rooms - creates a relaxing environment for patients, their families and staff.
Excellent Facilities
The hospital offers comfort and privacy for patients and families and has a total of 62 beds:
- 17 Surgical and 15 Medical beds in the General Ward,
- a 12 bed Maternity Ward with 8 private and 2 semi-private rooms and 2 Delivery rooms
- 5 bed Neonatal and 5 Adult ICU's
- 2 Theatres with 2 procedure rooms.
- An 8 bed Paediatric ward which is designed to suit the needs of children, and has a warm, inviting and playful environment achieved through the use of simple shapes and colours. From the moment one enters the Paediatric ward, one can see that this is clearly a place meant for children.
The hospital is also equipped with a 24-hour Accident and Emergency Unit that has a doctor in attendance 24/7 to refer patients, a Pharmacy, Radiology and Pathology Services. A full range of specialist services will be available at the hospital.
The hospital accepts medical aids and cash paying patients and the visiting hours are: 11h00 - 12h00, 15h00 - 16h00 and 19h00 - 20h00.
A winning partnership
Clinix Phalaborwa Private Hospital was constructed through a successful Public Private Partnership between Clinix Phalaborwa Private Hospital and the Department of Health and Social Development in Limpopo. The two parties signed a PPP agreement on the 6th of December 2010. In terms of the agreement, Clinix Phalaborwa Private Hospital would lease the premises of the old Phalaborwa Hospital for a period of 15 years, refurbish and upgrade the Hospital and manage it as a private hospital facility.
